Plant Spirit Medicine

Plants bring with them the true essence of heart-felt, unconditional generosity; taking in the energy of the Sun and transforming it within themselves to bring life to the planet.

As the oldest organic inhabitants of our earth, plants hold memories of the ancient past deep within their being. Our ancestors lived in partnership with the plant kingdom, not only in terms of food and medicine but as an integral part of their spiritual awareness and developing consciousness.

Shamanic cultures worldwide see everything around them as alive, aware, and interrelated. Looking at a plant, they do not see an object but a spirit expressing itself through its form, lifecycles, and interaction with the whole. When a shaman uses a plant for healing, he knows he is calling upon a spirit being – an ‘other’ intelligence that knows exactly what is needed to aid the healing process.

From a shamanic perspective the ‘dream of nature’ is a complex web of mutuality in which each part supports the other; the nature of nature is sustainable co-existence. The power of Plant Spirit Medicine lies in the ability to harness this self-organising and life giving principle restoring a sense of balance, wellbeing and wholeness. Through nurturing conscious, direct communion with plants we are offered a doorway into a world with limitless possibilities for the greater good of all.
